CV Advice
Your CV is the first impression you make in front of a decision maker. It is important to have a structure around your experiences, qualifications and key achievements in your career so far. Key pointers to writing a CV:
- A CV shouldn’t be any longer than 2-3 pages.
- A bullet point format works best highlighting mainly 2 sections against each role: responsibilities and achievements.
- What are achievements? Anything tangible/measurable: for example, reduced costs by 5%, improved margins by 15% , launched a new product line that increased sales from X to Y, was promoted from Assistant merchandiser to a Senior merchandiser in a span of 1 year, etc.
- If you are a designer and would like to include examples of your work, have a separate links section at the end.
- References- Have strong industry references will boost your application.
- Remember- A CV is a document that aims to SELL you, so it is worth investing time in writing one out properly
